keeping the concept of a tight knit family of artists, up next on sol asylum is the follow up ep for the dilated pupils titled introducing remi. this collective of likeminded artists from the netherlands return to the label with a solid four-track ep that shows their range and diversity as producers. moving full speed ahead we start off with “remi at 21.16” a track that instantly hypnotizes you on the dance floor with its echoing harmonic synths and a complex metallic snare pattern. the track is a slow burner that explodes when the dirty analog kick, swinging bassline, and filtered percussion melt into an atomic fusion. next we take it to the next level with “do” its underwater bubbling percussion, bleeping stabs and eerie synth take us to the far off corners of space with just enough acid to keep our heads down and grooving to the strobe light in a dark room. as we move into fall with “october times” a tightly woven groove and galloping kicks push us into more experimental territory with soaring vintage synths that create tension and finesse at the same time. finally we finishing things off with the esoteric vibes of “suque” this deep and dirty track channels the positive force from another realm, which is the perfect match for the inspiriting concept of sol asylum.

mysterious hardware tinkerer stephan stl laubner is back with a 3 track + locked groove ep on the london based imprint mutual friend recordings entitled listen up! mind puzzlin is exactly that with a luscious lead line that will twist your head accomponied by stls signature rough and overdriven percussion. smile function has a more ominous tone with repeated guitar plucks that plant themselves into your consciousness. stl builds the groove expertly whilst retaining an other-worldly feel to the track. wrong is a real groover with a growling bassline accomponied by weird and wonderful interwoven patterns coaxed out of stls synths. the locked groove, titled listen up! loop is a nice bonus for the more adventurous dj out there.

two paris legends reunite for the latest outing on the always fresh adult only label. owner chris carrier links up with his old pal dan ghenacia for this three-track ep, which includes a remix from german talent, diego krause. chris and dan last got together for adult only back in 2007, with their ‘tumble blur’ ep and they recently hit the studio together again to roll out two super dope slices of heads-down dance floor funk. as you might expect from two highly experienced veterans, the tracks on offer are both crisp, epitomising that classic house flow with a sprinkling of contemporary flavour. the 2nd degree bounces, whirrs and chirps all over the place while the 4x4 beat keeps the energy levels high. just a sin is a more serious cut, with a solemn presence and stuttered beats together with a hushed vocals giving it a mysterious feel. unison wax bossman diego krause powers up just a sin with his remix, putting a firm emphasis on the bassline, which is strong, murky and unrelenting. a deep, dark slice of groovy house for the after-hours crew

new years deal - with toby tobias debut lp for delusions of grandeur dropping on the 16th october we wanted to give you a little taste of what to expect with a couple of tracks plus a brilliant remix from dog regular franc spangler. kicking things off we have the twisted machine funk of the wonder featuring vocals from atwell. 808 beats bringing the vintage electro vibes whilst atwell’s vocal hints at the golden era of chicago house, adding a soulful touch to the rigid groove. next up is only getting better, diving into deeper waters with bubbling pads and pulsing bass line. finally, we have franc spangler getting busy on the remix, turning in a floor focused jam which brings the vocal to the fore and a big beefy bassline to bounce to.

mosco fell asleep in tel aviv and awoke days later in berlin. this is his first offering for the esp institute. on side a, akachi plows straight in with its relentless rolling bassline, a thick blanket enveloping any and all breathing room. an array of squelches and atonal pads struggle to rise above the trudging rhythm, while live percussion slides in and out of frenzy. on the flipside, nobody else shows us moscos more ethereal side. beautifully programmed drums draw us in as the accentuated hi-hats and claves elegantly pierce rhythmic synth work, until finally were carried away by mystic keys layering in heavenly glissandos. these two songs will make you thirst for potent potions.

for our first vinyl release emiel zwart has produced 3 tracks and the guys from twr72 (amsterdam, nl) are on remix duty. at the end they managed to create an ep with a great diversity of pure quality techno tracks. erratic sidewalk and thymine with a lightly rawer and harder feel compared to disclosure with a more melodic and hypnotic approach. the remix is built on a continuous driving rhythm with a steady bassline as you can expect from the guys from twr72.

new to the stay underground it pays gang, the eighth release on the label comes from none other than octo octa! you know him from his prolific run on 100% silk, and more recently for his ep on gerd jansons running back label at the top of the year. the man from brooklyn serves up 4 slices of that u.s. experimental house sound we love so much. on the a side, we have two versions of octo octa’s melancholic title track, requiem for the body. both as good as the other, it’s gonna be split for a lot of listeners on which is better. while both versions share certain elements, the second plays down the long keys of the first versions in favour of some stabby chord patterns. either way, proper 4 a.m. business!on the flip, we get a bit more ethereal with times two (loose version). simple yet effective, this one has a lot of atmosphere with those delayed vocal cuts over that late 80s bassline. closing out the record is when home. this one is a bit of a stomper at first until it brings in the lighter synth elements halfway through. someone, somewhere will have an epiphany listening to this track. if its you reading this, send in the results on the back of a postcard. all in all, another killer release that feels straight at home in the stay underground it pays catalogue

robsoul release number 22 for joss moog and mister consistent just keeps rolling out the essential house flavours. ego is his latest collection of work and features four new originals from the frenchman, each with the sample rich touch that we have come to love. the diva licks of the title track and ep opener ego set the perfect funky vibe for the rest of the ep. raw wave sees us riding one, as the beach vibes flow, the keys stab and the chocolatey bassline melts. whos that ramps things up with its jackin action, skittish snare and cowbell, but counters with its smooth keys. a perfect combination. joss closes the party with an ode to a hero. nothing blurred here, just the utmost of respect.

allez! here we go with the next release from terence :terry:’s highly-respected la vie en rose label. so far this year lvr has brought the heat with terence’s solo ep ‘acid heroes’ and the superb mix compilation ‘house couture’, which has received widespread praise. now, we have this brand new ep from a true paris legend, and an inspiration to terence himself – the one and only, jerome pacman. rising up in the early 90s, jerome established himself through the paris underground, and has remained one of the city’s finest selectors and producers. this four-track ep includes a remix from romanian godfathers livio & roby and represents jerome’s ability to throw down fresh, classic house rhythms with a modern twist. kicking off with ‘merry-go-round’, a bass-heavy rumbler imbued with subtle house tropes, we move into ‘jp sunlight’, a bubbling groover with twinkly, dream-like effects and a bassline that will lock in from the get go. on the flip we have ‘mpa’, a simple yet effective roller that will grip you with its repetitive groove and delicate use of detail in the background. livio & roby step up for the remix of ‘mpa’, which focuses on a more unusual, organic sound ethic – typical of the romanian sound that is so widely loved. a rework that is delivered with panache,

throw is the 1st track here, which manages to loop a refrain and bass that candy staton anthem, all the while sounding like a forgotten moodymann mpc jam. vocals, skipping snares, a bouncing tambourine & one of the finest bassline ever written (by someone else) compell you to dance. need your love is a heads down sample house jam. it’s looping vocal, super tight drums, woozy chord stabs and sirens make it feel like the result of a studio session between a 90’s dubbed out louie vega & man-like switch (before he went feral).

the second edition of the rose records limited 10- series comes courtesy of junktion, whose releases on the likes of outplay and slow town didn t only sell out at breakneck speed but also established him as one of holland s biggest talents in discerning deephouse/disco circles. junktion does what he does best on this delightful little platter. the lolloping running for whatever on the a is as infectious as they come, with loads of clever samples arranged over classy rolling drums and a deep, rubbery bassline. flip over for pale blue dot, a slightly tougher, trippier uptempo workout with spaced out pads, big drums, crisp hats and massive synth stabs that should whip up a real frenzy in a packed club. killer pair of tunes from a producer that s very much on top of his game.

after the immersive techno pulse of qindeks effe 12inch, wavereform is thrilled to present the return of rising lativan talent juras lietus to our label for our fifth release. his debut single des-m marked our second release in 2014, and while the artist remains something of a mystery outside of his home city of riga, his productions sport the kind of well-travelled tones that transcend geographical location to deliver an infectious message. the single kicks off with metallic thump of >steiga<, which leaps out from the very start with an addictive chord line and a well-rounded kick. juras lietus handles the progression of his track with poise, feeding in a rich tapestry of percussive elements and teasing the filter on that distinctive synth to give the track a fluid, psychedelic flavour. balancing these elements out is a warm, undulating bassline that injects a joyous energy into the track, while the soul-stirring speech sample should be familiar to any socially conscious dancer. its a production that satisfies the needs of a party-hungry dancefloor while equally delivering the internal reflection that comes with all great dub techno.

as one of the most exciting talents rising out of the uk, there is no better time for dc-10 resident richy ahmed to team up with new yorks seminal house imprint, strictly rhythm, and release * cant you see ep*. opening with a hard-hitting 4/4 beat * cant you see* features a funk-laden walking bassline adding fluidity to the mix, calling on the sound of the 80s and bringing it in to the present day. analog synth sounds are peppered amongst bluntly cut vocal samples, drawing inspiration from the clinical elements of techno, yet retaining the groove that ahmeds work is rapidly becoming synonymous with. the eps second track is ahmeds remix of logics 1990 classic * the warning*. the originals acapella has been repurposed by ahmed, looming over the tracks driving percussive elements. with a low-slung bassline interchanging with sizzling hi-hats, the remix pulls the original away from its blissed-out roots and firmly into the warehouse, providing new meaning to one of the legendary strictly rhythm’s many classic club anthems.

the brilliant initial outing from kerri chandler on large music gets a re-issue and sounds just as fresh and influential as it did in 1995. darker and more minimal than kerri s output at the time on labels such as king street and freetown, this four track ep set the tone and sound of large for most of the late 1990s. all four tracks feature the trademark chandler bassline, jazzed-out trippy chords, and chopped up vocals. this is a timeless classic and a must have for any serious house vinyl connoisseur.

the second loveit press comes right in time for the festival season and for dusty basements too. suolcity is a young producer from stuttgart, the spot for house business again. probably he felt it already as intern at rocker 33?, the club such as panorama bar and robert johnson. how else could you explain the b-side rush, you had to feel this dubby, gritty bassline. not hard enough - so maybe rush harder, you can have it all.

on the first side side we got the title track kings & queens, featuring carlo and the unique voice of the singer / songwriter gjaezon. trippy chords combined with whirling hi-hats give that track a special melancholic, dark and warm feeling. perel transformed the second track speakerbox straight into a club banger - jacking grooves and cut up vocals by gjae, thats how we like it. and now sit back and relax while ranko serves you his cocktail of slow-motion funk and dubby grooves in his clarapark remix. on the flip side oliver gehrmann starts with his version of speakerbox: a floating and melodic sunrise hymn, including such a rolling bassline that your feet will do all the work for you. odysea take you back to the golden age of house music, therefor the boys created a soulful remix with majestic strings that give you nothing but goose bumps.

releasing not very often, understand has always kept things in the dark about what is going to happen next. the wait is over and the fifth instalment of the series is named ebandogue and features 3 tracks from dubtil, one of today s best producers in the bucharest underground. ruling side a is opus ebant, an epic masterpiece, driven by a groovy bassline and subtle male choirs. this heavenly atmosphere goes from trippy to driving back and forth making it perfect for a peaktime moment that won’t be forgotten. may also be used in some worship places. debandada and epilogue share side b and besides the producer himself that is almost everything they share. debandada is kind of dark and experimental but full of energy in the same time with weird whispers and evolving hats keeping everything on the move. epilogue has a more positive approach, the general uplifing feeling is spiked ocasionally with a techno resonator and some background synths, and just like that, the random delayed male vocals make it so more interesting.

*hopeful* is the second release on nulectric records by nils bentlage and the first track of the ep. he created a techhouse influenced beat with decent choirs and rolling percussions. philipp lammers and ni no teamed up for *speaking up*, a constant groover filled with hip shaking percussions and glitchy vocal parts. tension continues with a minimalistic and mysterious groover called *dazed*. deep atmos and a jumpy bassline are creating a mood the title is promising. tim rehme follows with his interpetation of deep and dark house. *gravity lane* provides a perfect mood for the afterhours.

psyth launches with the debut ep from rob shields. with a delicate urgency driven by a pulsating post-punk bassline, shards lavishes layer upon rich layer of sound, evoking the cool grooves of peaking lights and chromatics, while a shimmering vocal sample from rebecca sawyer adds an otherworldly sense of longing that echoes through the soul of the release. silhouetted appears more conventional and dance-floor friendly next to shards, but under the surface is something unique and strangely exotic. a mantra-like melody loop gives a nod to minimalist composer terry riley and his solo organ works, while world instruments such as an african kalimba and tibetan singing bowl only heighten the hypnotic and intoxicating quality even further.

washerman who is steadily proving his outstanding craft since many years, delivers yet another uncompromising oldskool house cut to shake the floors worldwide. slightly ravey with a bouncing acid bassline riding on a driving beat: a sure play. crowdpleasers remix refers to an end of 80s / beginning of 90s house music style by using retro drummachine sounds and a prominently mixed hypnotic synth melody, which both somehow remind us of old david cronenberg movies. crowdpleaser is an experienced cat and a long time contributor to genevas cultural dance music diversity. he has co-produced the critically acclaimed album *2006* with st plomb and has released many on-the-point tracks ever since. emerging from st plombs debut album country city country, these two remixes almost desperately have been waiting to see the light (on a 10 inch vinyl release!). we think: these two remixes make another swiss crop-of-the-house release!

koos ludwig aka ion ludwig is a new part of the eklo team, the dutch guy is a close aide to the label since the beginning. he finally offered a wonderful two tracker to the eklo collection, full of mystery and grooves. ten canoes is a shamanic dub house trip, with futuristic and roots vibes, with a real story in it. on the flip, the realm is a house linn drum groover with an hypnotic bassline and an outstanding vocal. this ep is a vinyl-only release.
